Today college tuition is so expensive that the thought on most students' minds is "how do I qualify for a scholarship?" To get to the front of the line for most scholarships, a high ACT test score is a must. Is There a Cutoff ACT Test Score?
While every scholarship has different requirements, most of the time a large scholarship will require you to have a minimum of score of 27 on the ACT. Considering that the national average is 21.1, that is a tall order.

- Examine each of the four scores to see where you are weakest: English, Math, Reading and Science.
- Examine the sub-scores of English and Math to zero in on the specific areas you need to improve.
- Keep in mind that just retaking the test might improve your score, if you were really nervous the first time, since you will know what to expect the second time.
The next step is to select an ACT test study program that will help you quickly get results. Avoid the 10 week-long study programs that require you to go back to school after dinner one night each week, as they are long, can be boring, and are tough to complete.
A video-based program online is usually the best bet, because you can study at your leisure, 20 to 30 minutes at a time before your brain gets tired, and you can rewind and repeat video lessons that you need to spend more time on.
